Deep tissue massage uses slow, firm strokes and sustained pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and fascia. It is ideal when ordinary relaxation massage does not touch the tension you carry in your shoulders, back, hips or legs.
Benefits

- Improves posture by lengthening shortened tissue
- Relieves tightness from long hours sitting or driving
- Eases stiffness in the neck, shoulders and lower back
- Supports recovery from old injuries
- Leaves you feeling lighter, looser and calmer
Techniques
- Slow, deep compression along the muscle fibres
- Stripping and cross-fibre techniques
- Targeted work on knots and trigger points
- Fascial release for restricted areas
- Breathing cues to help muscles let go

Frequently asked questions
Is deep tissue massage painful?
It can feel intense on tight areas, but it should never be sharp or unbearable. Tell your therapist and pressure will be adjusted straight away.
Will I be sore afterwards?
Mild tenderness for a day is normal, similar to after exercise. Drinking water and gentle movement help.
How is it different from sports massage?
Deep tissue targets chronic tightness regardless of activity; sports massage is shaped around training, recovery and performance.
